Who Is One Way Ministries International?

One Way Ministries International (OWMI) is a nonprofit ministry based in Central Minnesota dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission.

We train and equip indigenous believers in the unreached regions of the 10/40 Window (and beyond) to multiply disciples and plant churches.

The Beginning

The founder, a Marine Corps veteran, traveled to South Asia on his first mission trip.

During that trip he witnessed people being healed and demons cast out in Jesus' name.

What he saw was real, undeniable, and life-changing.

Returning home, he knew he could not ignore what he had experienced.

He felt compelled to dedicate his life to helping fulfill the Great Commission.

Training Churches

The founder originally planned to travel to Sri Lanka with another ministry, but the Lord redirected him to return alone to the same country where he had first witnessed the power of God at work.

At the time, he had never preached or taught before. Yet he stepped out in faith and began sharing the biblical principles he had learned.

What happened next made it clear that the work was not about human ability. As Scripture says, “When we are weak, He is strong.”

In the months that followed, reports came in that several of the churches began doubling and even tripling in size as they applied these teachings.

Public Evangelism

The founder returned again and held a crusade in a local soccer stadium.

Local television networks covered the event as people gathered to hear the gospel.

Local politicians and radical extremist publicly gave their lives to Christ.

Later that same month the first television broadcast began airing in that country, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers each day.

A Clear Direction

The founder felt strongly that the Lord was calling him to focus on house churches and disciple-making.

After speaking with local leaders and ministry partners, they confirmed the same vision.

This became the heart of our focus: planting churches and multiplying disciples.

Rapid Multiplication

Within just one year, the ministry had helped plant 487 new house churches.

The work expanded across five countries in South and Southeast Asia, as local believers began multiplying disciples and churches.

2023

Expansion to Seven Nations

The work expanded into two additional countries, bringing the total to seven nations.

By the end of the year, more than 4,500 house churches and disciple groups had been planted through trained indigenous leaders.

Today

What God Has Done

Since the ministry began, more than 8,000 new house churches have been planted.

Through these efforts and additional outreach strategies, nearly one million people have heard the gospel and come to faith in Christ.

The ministry has also partnered with Great Commission organizations including:

  • The American Bible Society

  • Faith Comes By Hearing

  • The Jesus Film Project

  • and others.

For many years the ministry operated without fundraising, trusting God to provide as doors opened.

Today we are inviting others to partner with us so the work that is already multiplying can continue to grow.
